Fall Leaves

A cake I did a few years ago. The leaves are all made of gumpaste and dusted with petal dusts. I added a little pearl dust to them for shimmer. I love the colors of fall and think they translate very well onto cake.

A Red Velvet Cake layered with cream cheese icing. Swiss Meringue Buttercream covers the cake with orange piped rose details. The design is taken from the invitation to a wedding. This cake was for the rehearsal dinner.

Princess Cake

OK my kitchen is a state. This was at 12 am I was so ready for bed but knew I didn't want to face the mess in the morning. This cake was all Vanilla Sponge cake with a Vanilla Swiss Meringue buttercream. I tripled my Swiss Meringue Buttercream recipe and had both mixers working flat out but it saved me alot of time. The recipe for my Swiss Meringue buttercream is care of Elisa Strauss in her CONFETTI CAKES book. I love it and it works really well.
The crown and butterflies were made out of gumpaste and done the Sharon Zambito way. Thank you to Sharon for her tutorial ..... (

I still want to do some sugar work to make some Jewels. I bought a mold to make faceted jems and will get to it at some point.
The colors used for the cake were from the party invite and to my surprise worked well on cake.

Here is a Designer Purse Cake, carved out of Vanilla Pound with Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Instead of the "LV" logo I made my own. I did this cake at home with Jessica to demonstrate how to do carved cakes.

A chocolate devils food cake with Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Gumpaste 50 topper and roses. Used my handi dandi fondant extruder to do the curly rope around each tier. I love gadgets!

Tie Die Cookie

Here were some cookies I made for Neve's Authors Tea at school. Butterflies, Dragonflies and Bee's flooded with royal icing swirled with different colors.

Graduation Owl Cake

Here is a cake I made for a graduate going on to study further in New York. The owl is made from Devils Food Cake and Chocolate Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Using homemade fondant I cut out circles to create a simplified feather effect. The book was carved out of a Vanilla cake (9x13") and also covered in fondant. I was inspired to do this cake after having seen Charm City Cakes do 2 owls for a wedding.

Ivory and Teal Wedding Cake

Here is a 3 tiered Chocolate Fudge Cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate SMBC filling and ivory vanilla SMBC exterior. Gumpaste roses were made with a 41/2 inch 5 petal cutter. I used a tuorial from a cake decorator in Australia I greatly admire, cakesbyfrancesca.

Chocolate and Pink

Here is a cake that was made for a friend's daughter, Lorelei who turned 3! A decedant chocolate fudge cake filled with chocolate SMBC with pink vanilla SMBC exterior. The rose and lettering done with Chocolate Clay and little chocolates made with Wilton chocolate molds and chocolate wafers.

Painter's palette

A painters palette created for Neve on her 7th birthday. The party held at THE CLAY COTTAGE in Wexford where the kids had a blast painting plates and ceramic animals to take home. The cake was chocolate with chocolate Swiss Meringue Buttercream (SMBC) topped with different colors of buttercream to resemble the oil paints. The painting brush was made from gumpaste and painted silver detail.
