Graduation Owl Cake


Here is a cake I made for a graduate going on to study further in New York. The owl is made from Devils Food Cake and Chocolate Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Using homemade fondant I cut out circles to create a simplified feather effect. The book was carved out of a Vanilla cake (9x13") and also covered in fondant. I was inspired to do this cake after having seen Charm City Cakes do 2 owls for a wedding.
