Princess Cake

OK my kitchen is a state. This was at 12 am I was so ready for bed but knew I didn't want to face the mess in the morning. This cake was all Vanilla Sponge cake with a Vanilla Swiss Meringue buttercream. I tripled my Swiss Meringue Buttercream recipe and had both mixers working flat out but it saved me alot of time. The recipe for my Swiss Meringue buttercream is care of Elisa Strauss in her CONFETTI CAKES book. I love it and it works really well.
The crown and butterflies were made out of gumpaste and done the Sharon Zambito way. Thank you to Sharon for her tutorial ..... (

I still want to do some sugar work to make some Jewels. I bought a mold to make faceted jems and will get to it at some point.
The colors used for the cake were from the party invite and to my surprise worked well on cake.
